Hi I am Lucy and the founder of this new baking blog. I have always enjoyed baking, but had not relished my passion for it until about two years ago. I can always remember helping my mum out baking if it was only just to mix the ingredients together and lick the spoon at the end. I also became quiet handy in the kitchen after a visit to New Zealand when I was 17 helping our family friend Ally in the kitchen. She told me that I would make a good little cook one day, and now I am finding my passion for being in the kitchen. 

I decided to set up a baking blog so I can document all my baking I do for my friends and family, and my best critic my husband. Once we moved into our first home together two years ago, is when my passion for baking really started. I would bake cakes for when the family came round to visit or when we had a night in with friends. While developing my skills I have become fond of making cupcakes and classic home bakes. 

My dream is to set up my own baking business from home and then grow it into a tea shop in a country village. For now I am enjoying being in the kitchen trying out new recipes and feeding my family and friends.

behind the name

The inspiration of the name 'Little Pickle's Bakery' is taken from our pet rabbit Pickle. She is a house bunny that has lived up to her name 'Pickle' by being a right little pickle. She loves to explore and get up to mischief. When she is behaving you can find her relaxing in the sun by the window in our living room. As she is a big part of my life I thought it would be fun to name the blog after her and show my family and friends what mischief I get up to of my own when I am baking.
